Vajswerk is a Berlin-based research collective. In a dialogue between scholarship and art,
it forms ensembles to conduct biographical research and present it on stage.
Scholars and artists research biographies and give them theatrical form as representatives of the authentic figures.
In a working process lasting several months, they produce stage presentations incorporating multiple perspectives, illuminating historical and political contexts and generating new subject matters and forms for the theater.
In cultural education projects, young people undertake biographical investigations and, with artistic and scholarly support, use their results and impressions to create plays.
